Not everyone can manage to splurge on tickets for the famed Coachella Music Festival, and if you are in that bunch, no worries! You can still have a brilliant time! I can vouch for that.
I headed to the Coachella Valley this past Saturday with a mission to attend some of the hottest and stylish parties surrounding the festival.
First on the list was the Refinery29 x A-OK Collective ‘Paradiso’ pool party at The Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs. The poolside was beaming with energy from a diverse group of partygoers. Alexa Chung started DJing just when I arrived and her set was certainly pumping up the crowd, People were dancing to songs from good ol’ TLC to Bruno Mars. A couple other perks of the event included a Hair Hotspot hosted by Garnier Fructis, which provided a hair styling bar to get the right look for the weekend festivities. Additionally, there was a booth for trendy, ‘flash tattoos’ which added to that bohemian vibe many people try to channel for Coachella weekend.
My next stop was the Pandora Jewelry event featuring Tracy Reese and Nanette Lepore fashion shows hosted on the lovely Gene Autry estate lawn in Palm Springs. This party had a rather different atmosphere than the first, it was more sophisticated and catered towards industry professionals. There was a yoga tent, open bar, complimentary snacks and small giveaways. The Nanette Lepore fashion show complemented the event very well with designs that were chic, light and airy paired with Pandora Jewelry. Her line mainly incorporated colors like bright yellow, mint, white, black and pink-coral.
I finished my Saturday at The Influential House party which primarily had guests and hosts who were are influential in the social media scene. There were adults and also teenagers at the party that can make nearly 6 figures in a month because of their vast social media presence. Whether the attendees be influential on Vine, Instagram or Twitter, these people were seriously making me consider putting much more effort into social media. The crowd at TINhouse seemed to be easier to talk to and more casual. I spent the most time here, considering there was catered food, an open bar, backyard games and a trampoline!
Come Sunday, I spent almost my whole afternoon at the Sabo Springs event hosted by Australian e-commerce company, Sabo Skirt. The party was held on the magnificent Frederick Loewe estate. The property was like a daydream! The owners of the popular high-street brand, Thessy and Yiota Kouzoukas, were wandering around the grounds and mingling with guests. I had the chance to speak with them briefly and found them to be very sweet and humble. It’s amazing how social media can help propel young fashion bloggers, like they were, into becoming global ecommerce entrepreneurs. The guests included the likes of popular fashion bloggers like Amy Pham, Joellen Lu, singer Snoh Aalegra and DJs like Alie Layus and ‘It’ girl Leigh Lezark. The Sabo Springs party was my favorite of the weekend. The mood was happy and relaxed. Practically everyone at the event was dressed their best, each expressing their own personal style. Flower crowns were trending, as were flower decor provided by Flower Gypsies. Crochet knit fabrics and two piece sets were also popular among the ladies. The Sabo Springs event wrapped up my weekend in Coachella Valley perfectly!
