After the iPhone came out, the use of digital cameras became practically non-existent for those of us that are amateur photographers. Recently, however, the digital camera has made a major comeback, just not in the way you would expect. Millennials and Gen Z will likely be seen throughout this summer rocking digital cameras on cross body straps in place of purses or belt bags.
While some of these individuals may be snapping digital photos as opposed to using their cell phone camera, for many, the digital camera has become the new it-girl accessory. Many influences have curated outfits centered around having a camera on their shoulder. As vintage and Y2K style has increased in popularity, it is no surprise that cameras are reappearing in a new way. Not only are digital cameras practical, but they also look cool and are a great conversation starter.
So when planning your outfit for a day in the city, consider dusting off that digital camera from 2012. Now whether you use it for photos or not is entirely up to you.
