The dangers of the gut health TikTok trends – Nutritionist commentary from Noom

Our gut is the foundation of everything. It aids in the digestion of the foods we eat, absorbs nutrients, and uses it to fuel and maintain our bodies. It’s also where our bodies get rid of metabolic waste and toxins. If we have an unhealthy gut, we will struggle to expel these toxins from our bodies, leading to numerous issues and making it harder to stay healthy.

There has been a rise in awareness for gut health recently. Due to this increase in popularity, there has been a large rise in challenges or trends on social media, especially TikTok, with claims of different ways to “fix” or improve gut health.
