THE COST OF THE CHEAPEST HOTEL ROOM IN DOHA

The cheapest hotel room left in Doha to watch England’s World Cup group games will set fans back £4,724, according to research by hotel and flights comparison website FlightsFinder.com. The most expensive hotel rooms still available are being advertised at more than £30,000.

With just three days to go before England’s first game against Iran on 21st November, hotel rooms have been selling out fast. The few remaining rooms are being advertised at eye-watering prices.

FlightsFinder.com, which compares hotel and flights aggregator sites such as Kayak and Skyscanner, looked at availability of a double room in Doha for eight nights from 21st November to 29th November, to watch England’s three group games.

The cheapest double room still available is a basic furnished apartment in the heart of Doha, where England kick off their World Cup campaign against Iran, advertised at £4,724 for eight nights. That works out at £590 a night.

The apartment in Fereej Bin Omran is nothing to shout home about. However, it is less than 15 minutes away from the Khalifa International Stadium, where England kick off their campaign.

On Booking.com, the cheapest available double room is a one-bed apartment at the Bin Al Sheikh hotel for £4,756. While the cheapest hotel room on Expedia is at the Sedra Arjaan, which will set you back £6,054.

At the other end of the scale, the most expensive double rooms in Doha are currently being advertised at more than £30,000 for the eight nights. Flightsfinder found a suite at the Doha Pearl, for £36,926, or £4,616 a night.

Shahab Siddiqui, founder of flights comparison site Flightsfinder.com, comments:

“England kick off their World Cup campaign in three days time. Most fans will already have arranged their accommodation, but any who thought they would chance their arm and leave it until the last minute, could be facing a hefty bill. There are very few hotel rooms left and those that are available are being advertised at crazy prices. We also expect hotel and flights to rocket if England win their first couple of matches, as fans who haven’t bought tickets yet scramble to get out to Doha for the knockout stages.”
