TANGO LAUNCHES EDIBLE NAIL VARNISH FOR BRITS FACING STRESSFUL GIG TICKET QUEUES!

With major music events and highly anticipated gigs putting fans on high alert for ticket drops, Tango has come up with an unusual solution for those feeling the pressure: edible nail varnish.

New research commissioned by Tango suggests that securing tickets to an in-demand event can be a surprisingly stressful experience, with fans going to extreme lengths to make sure they don’t miss out.

From spending hours staring at an online queue to shouting at laptops and refusing to leave the house for fear of losing their place, ticket day can bring out some seriously intense behaviour.

And with major ticket sales on the horizon, Tango is giving nervous gig-goers something a little more flavourful to bite into.

Brits Are Spending Hours in Online Ticket Queues!

According to Tango’s research, more than two-fifths of Brits (42%) have used multiple devices or browsers when attempting to secure sought-after tickets.

For some fans, however, even that isn’t enough.

More than a third (36%) say they have spent over two hours in an online ticket queue, while 6% have endured queues lasting five hours or more.

Perhaps most impressively, 2% of respondents admitted they have actually camped overnight in pursuit of tickets.

The research also found that one in 10 Brits have avoided going to the toilet while trying to secure tickets, presumably unwilling to risk stepping away from their screen at the crucial moment.

For anyone who has watched their position in a virtual queue slowly tick down, only to suddenly be met with an error message, the struggle will probably feel very familiar.

Ticket Day Can Be More Stressful Than a First Date!

The pressure doesn’t stop at waiting.

Around four in 10 Brits say they feel nervous when trying to secure tickets to an in-demand event, with that figure rising to 46% among 18 to 24-year-olds.

For some, the experience is apparently more nerve-wracking than other traditionally stressful situations.

Nearly a third (31%) say attempting to secure tickets is more stressful than going to the dentist, while 19% say it is worse than a job interview.

Meanwhile, 18% of respondents say ticket day is scarier than going on a first date, while 15% say it is more nerve-wracking than meeting their in-laws.

And the stress appears to be getting under fans’ skin – or, more specifically, their nails.

More than a quarter (26%) of 18 to 24-year-olds admitted to biting their nails while trying to secure tickets.

Tango’s Answer? Edible Nail Varnish!

To mark what it is calling a particularly “nail-biting” period for music fans, Tango has launched a limited-edition edible nail varnish.

The unusual product comes in Tango’s iconic orange colour and is designed to taste like the fizzy drink itself.

Essentially, instead of nervously chewing your nails while staring at an online ticket queue, Tango wants fans to have something a little tastier to sink their teeth into.

The edible nail varnish is being made available through an exclusive social media giveaway, with fans encouraged to keep an eye on Tango’s Instagram for information about how to enter.

The Ticket Queue Panic Is Very Real!

The research suggests that once ticket day arrives, common sense can quickly disappear.

Nearly a third (30%) of Brits admit to having shouted or sworn at their laptop while trying to secure tickets.

Among 18 to 24-year-olds, 21% have even shouted at people in their household to get off the Wi-Fi while attempting to complete a purchase.

Then there is the dreaded refresh button.

Nearly one in five people (18%) say they would never refresh a page after entering an online queue, fearing that doing so could send them hurtling from thousands of places forward in the queue to the very back.

More than a quarter (26%) also say they have been too scared to leave their screen while waiting for tickets.

In other words, once the queue has started, getting up for a snack, going to the toilet or even blinking can apparently feel like a significant risk.

A Nail-Biting Solution for Gig Fans!

Holly Dunnett of Carlsberg Britvic said the company expects fans’ fingernails to “take a serious battering” during the upcoming ticket rush.

The Tango edible nail varnish, she explained, is intended to turn one of the most stressful moments of ticket buying into something a little more fun.

While it obviously can’t guarantee that fans will actually secure their tickets, Tango says it can at least make the experience a little more flavourful.

And if the research is anything to go by, there will be plenty of nervous fans who could use the distraction.

With some of the year’s biggest ticket releases approaching, music lovers will once again be faced with the familiar ritual: multiple devices, open browsers, unstable Wi-Fi, endless refreshing and the terrifying moment when the queue suddenly stops moving.

At least this time, there might be something to snack on.
