Supergirl is officially ready to take flight, with DC Studios’ highly anticipated new superhero film arriving exclusively on HBO Max in the UK and Ireland on September 10.
Following its theatrical release, Supergirl will make its global streaming debut on Thursday, September 10, giving fans the chance to experience the latest chapter in the new DC Cinematic Universe from home.
The film will also arrive on HBO linear in the US on Saturday, September 12 at 8pm ET.

Meet the New Supergirl
Starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, Supergirl introduces a new interpretation of one of DC’s most iconic heroes as she embarks on a journey far beyond Earth.
Kara is the cousin of Kal-El — better known as Superman — but this Supergirl is determined to carve out her own identity.
Headstrong, worldly-wise and frequently reckless, Kara approaches heroism on her own terms. When a ruthless adversary threatens someone close to her, however, she finds herself forced into an unlikely alliance.
Together, they embark on an epic interstellar adventure that sees Kara confronted with questions of revenge, justice and what it really means to be a hero.
And there’s another important mission at stake: saving Kara’s best friend, her beloved dog Krypto.
The result promises a very different kind of superhero story, with Supergirl exploring the idea that doing the right thing isn’t always easy — or necessarily nice.
A New Chapter for the DC Universe
Supergirl marks an important step in the developing DC Cinematic Universe, following the launch of the new DC era under DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The film is directed by Craig Gillespie, known for films including Cruella and I, Tonya, from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.

Gunn and Safran produced the film, with Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars P. Winther serving as executive producers.
The character of Supergirl is based on DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
Supergirl Will Also Be Available With ASL
In addition to the standard version, an American Sign Language (ASL) version of Supergirl will also stream exclusively on HBO Max on September 10.
The ASL version is performed by Catalene Sacchetti, known for Songs in Sign Language, and directed by Jonaz McMillan, who directed The Pitt with ASL Season One.
The addition gives more viewers the opportunity to experience Kara Zor-El’s latest adventure as the new DC era continues to expand.

For viewers in the UK and Ireland, Supergirl begins streaming exclusively on HBO Max on Thursday, September 10.
