Jacket potatoes have officially had their fashion moment.
To celebrate the latest additions to its Spudway range, Subway has unveiled Subway Skins, a limited-edition shapewear collection inspired by one of Britain’s favourite comfort foods.
Launched to coincide with London Fashion Week, the tongue-in-cheek collection takes inspiration from the world of celebrity shapewear and transforms the humble jacket potato into a series of sleek, body-hugging fashion pieces.
And yes, that really does mean a jacket potato-inspired bodysuit.
Meet Subway Skins!
The limited-edition Subway Skins capsule collection features an ultra-sleek bodysuit alongside a fitted crop top and high-waisted shorts set.
Rather than attempting to recreate the famously fluffy interior of a baked potato, Subway has gone for a more polished interpretation, with the pieces arriving in earthy, potato-skin-inspired shades.
The collection has been designed around the idea of customisation – much like Subway’s food menu – allowing fans to bring their own personality to the pieces.
The unusual fashion drop is part of Subway’s latest campaign for its Spudway jacket potato range, giving the classic lunchtime staple a very unexpected makeover.
“Subway is all about doing things your own way and that shouldn’t stop at lunch, so this season we’re bringing that energy straight into fashion culture,” says Kirstey Elston, EMEA Senior Marketing Director at Subway.
“As our new Spudway toppings hit our restaurants, we wanted to spotlight the humble potato in the most unexpected way possible – giving it the fashion moment it has always deserved.”
New Spudway Flavours Join the Menu!
The Subway Skins launch coincides with the arrival of two new toppings for Subway’s Spudway range: Beef Chilli and 5 Bean Chilli.
Both options are designed to be loaded onto a warm jacket potato, with Subway continuing its emphasis on customisation and letting customers build their meal around their favourite toppings.
For anyone who isn’t feeling the spud, the new Beef Chilli and 5 Bean Chilli options can also be enjoyed as a Sub, Wrap or Salad, with Subway’s usual selection of toppings available to customise each order.
The new flavours are available for a limited time at Subway restaurants across the UK, as well as through the Subway app and delivery platforms including Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
How to Win Subway Skins!
Unfortunately, you can’t simply walk into your local Subway and ask for a Subway Skins bodysuit alongside your lunch.
The collection is being made available exclusively through a social media giveaway on Subway’s official UK & Ireland Instagram account.
Entries opened at 8am on Thursday 17 September 2026 and close at 8am on Thursday 24 September 2026.
To enter, fans need to:
- Like the Subway Skins promotion post on Subway’s UK & Ireland Instagram.
- Comment on the post with their favourite Spudway order.
- Additional comments count as additional entries, according to the competition terms.
The giveaway will see 10 winners receive one piece from the bespoke collection. Winners can indicate whether they would prefer the Crop Top & Shorts Set or Bodysuit, as well as their preferred size, although Subway says preferences are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Winners will be selected at random and contacted via Instagram Direct Message by 8am on Tuesday 29 September 2026.
Each winner has five working days to claim their prize, with the prize expected to be delivered within six weeks of acceptance.
The competition is open to entrants aged 18 and over in the UK and Republic of Ireland, with a maximum of one prize per entrant.
From Jacket Potato to Jacket… Potato?
Subway’s latest campaign certainly isn’t the usual fashion week collaboration.
With London Fashion Week providing the backdrop, the brand has taken something traditionally associated with cosy autumn lunches and transformed it into a deliberately unexpected piece of fashion culture.
Whether you’re ready to swap your favourite autumn jumper for a potato-toned bodysuit is another question entirely.
But with Beef Chilli and 5 Bean Chilli joining the Spudway menu at the same time, Subway is clearly hoping its latest campaign gets people thinking about the humble spud in a completely different way.
And if nothing else, Subway Skins might just be the first shapewear collection to make you genuinely hungry.
