Oddbox, the fruit and veg delivery company on a mission to fight food waste, has upped the ante with a series of new attention-grabbing visuals that aim to make fighting food waste sexy again.
Following the success of their playful food waste campaign, Soilmates, Oddbox’s latest campaign looks to turn up the heat and draw attention to the serious issue amongst a younger audience, because everyone knows, sex sells. With their latest Do Good Report revealing that as much as 40% of all food produced is wasted*, it’s time to add a little spice to dinner time.
Using data collected from its vegetable dating site launched earlier this year for Valentine’s Day, Oddbox has identified which unlucky vegetables are still searching for their perfect “Soilmate.” The potato, aubergine and salad leaves are getting desperate and are turning to more direct tactics to find their perfect match. These lonely vegetables are now taking matters into their own hands (or leaves?) with a series of attention-grabbing posters and stickers seemingly featuring inclusive sexual proclivities, inspired by kink, group, BDSM and other alternative practices.
But don’t worry, the risqué language and imagery are all in good fun with QR codes directing the public to recipes on the Oddbox website, proving that fighting food waste can be both delicious and exciting. Keep an eye out for these cheeky images across London and get ready to fall in love and help fight food waste with some sexy, sustainable veggies.
