Shure has unveiled the next generation of its MV6 USB Gaming Microphone, introducing adjustable audio processing, a new white finish and more customisation for gamers, streamers and content creators.
The Shure MV6 USB Gaming Microphone Gen 2 is officially launching today, September 30, 2026, bringing a range of upgrades to the company’s popular digital MOTIV microphone portfolio.
Designed specifically for PC gaming, streaming and content creation, the new microphone builds on the original MV6 with additional control over its intelligent audio features. Shure says the latest model has been developed in response to feedback from gamers, streamers and creators looking for more flexibility without having to become audio experts.
For anyone moving beyond a gaming headset and looking for a dedicated microphone, the MV6 Gen 2 is designed to offer professional broadcast-inspired audio alongside a setup that remains straightforward to use.
Smarter Audio for Gaming and Streaming!
One of the biggest changes with the MV6 Gen 2 is the increased control users have over its automatic audio processing.
The microphone continues to use Shure Voice Isolation Technology, while Gen 2 introduces adjustable Auto Level Mode and an adjustable Real-Time Denoiser.
Auto Level Mode is designed to keep vocals at a consistent volume, even when a streamer’s voice changes dramatically. That could mean quietly talking during a tense stealth section before suddenly shouting after securing a victory.
Users can now choose both how loud their voice sits within the mix and how quickly the microphone responds to changes in volume. A slower response can create a smoother, podcast-style sound, while a faster setting is intended to react more quickly to sudden gaming moments.
The new adjustable Real-Time Denoiser provides another layer of control, allowing users to decide how aggressively background noise is reduced.
That means sounds such as keyboards, fans or other people in the room can be reduced when necessary, while lowering the setting can preserve a more natural and open sound.
A Microphone Designed for Creators!
The MV6 Gen 2 is built around the idea that gamers and creators shouldn’t need extensive audio knowledge to achieve consistent results.
“Gamers and streamers aren’t audio engineers, and they shouldn’t have to be to sound great,” said T Banks, Product Manager at Shure.
According to Shure, the microphone’s processing is designed to handle common challenges faced during gaming and streaming, including sudden volume changes and noisy environments.
The microphone can also store audio settings directly, allowing users to maintain their preferred configuration when moving between compatible devices.
Settings can be adjusted through Shure’s free MOTIV desktop, tablet and mobile apps, giving creators additional control over their setup.
Five-Band EQ and Presets!
For creators who want more control over their sound, the MV6 Gen 2 features a 5-band equalizer.
Users can create their own audio profile or choose between three straightforward EQ options: Dark, Natural and Bright.
The microphone also includes three presets covering Speech, Singing and Instrument applications, making it possible to quickly switch between different types of content.
A built-in Digital Popper Stopper is also included, using virtual pop filtering to help suppress harsh vocal sounds.
New White MV6 Gen 2 Joins the Line-Up
Shure is also giving creators more choice when it comes to the look of their setup.
The MV6 Gen 2 will be available in black and a new all-white finish.
Both versions come with a matching desktop stand and USB-C cable, while the white model features colour-matched flocked foam with a velvety finish.
The new finish gives the microphone a more unified look for creators building coordinated gaming and streaming desks.
More Flexible Desk Setups
The second-generation microphone also arrives with a longer 2-metre USB-C cable, giving users more flexibility when positioning the microphone around their desk.
The included desktop stand features an isolation base designed to minimise bumps and vibrations travelling through the desk and into the microphone.
For more advanced setups, the microphone has a universal 5/8-inch thread, allowing it to be removed from its desktop stand and attached to a standard boom arm.
There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing users to monitor their microphone and game audio without noticeable delay.
A hardware tap-to-mute button provides another useful feature for streamers, with a colour-changing LED indicator showing when the microphone has been muted.
From Gaming to Everyday Calls
Although the MV6 Gen 2 has been designed with gaming and streaming in mind, Shure says the microphone can also be used for everyday content creation and communication.
The microphone is compatible with PC, Mac and Android devices through a single USB-C connection. It is also MFi Certified by Apple, allowing it to be used with compatible iPhone and iPad devices.
That versatility means the same microphone can potentially move between gaming sessions, livestreams, video calls, recordings and other creative projects.
