A Dolly Parton Tribute With ‘Steel Magnolias’
Fans of Dolly Parton can celebrate the legendary singer, actress and philanthropist with screenings of the beloved 1989 classic Steel Magnolias.
The film will be shown at Rooftop Cinema Club Stratford on 5 September, followed by a Peckham screening on 12 September. The film stars Sally Field, Julia Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah and Dolly Parton, who plays the much-loved hairdresser Truvy Jones.
At its heart, Steel Magnolias is a story about friendship, resilience and finding humour during life’s most difficult moments – making it a fitting choice for a celebration of Parton’s legacy.
The screenings will also support Dolly Parton’s philanthropic work, with 10% of ticket sales donated to The Dollywood Foundation in support of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Tickets start from £14, making this a perfect excuse to gather your friends, head up to the rooftop and enjoy a classic under the London sky.
