ROCK FOR PEOPLE’S RECORD-BREAKING YEAR DRAWS OVER 40,000 VISITORS TO LEADING CZECH FESTIVAL

Rock for People festival recently wrapped up in Hradec Králové’s Park 360, attracting over 40,000 visitors with an exhilarating four-day lineup. The opening night featured an electrifying performance by The Prodigy, dazzling the crowd with their laser show. Punk legends The Offspring took center stage on the second day, celebrating 40 years in the game, whilst Dexter Holland, the band’s frontman, also joined Daniel Stach for an engaging session at Hyde Park Civilization, held live in the marquee tent.

Friday saw a record turnout, headlined by Bring Me The Horizon. Fans were also treated to performances by Avril Lavigne and Sum 41, marking their last Czech festival appearance. Saturday belonged to Yungblud, who captivated the audience with a dynamic performance, proving his major headliner credentials beyond a doubt. As part of his inclusive set, the audience were treated to a special spontaneous moment where he invited a fan on stage to play hit song ‘Fleabag’ on guitar, which he did flawlessly. The festival’s finale was then delivered by Pendulum, closing an event that featured over 130 concerts.

Festival Director Michal Thomes said:

“The 29th edition of the festival exceeded all my expectations. The artists delivered outstanding performances, our fans created an unforgettable atmosphere, and the team did an incredible job. Rock for People has grown beyond my wildest dreams, and I already know that the 30th edition will be even bigger!”

The festival’s second-largest stage, now nearly the same size as the main one, hosted a fiery show by Parkway Drive. Hollywood star Keanu Reeves and his band Dogstar also performed, adding to the excitement. Other standout acts included Brutalism 3000HanabieThe StrutsWargasmChinchillaNeck DeepBeth McCarthy, and Dead Pony.

Rock for People is renowned for its eclectic programming, which this year featured performances by the Police Symphonic Orchestra and the Prague Philharmonic, playing classical renditions of popular hits. The festival also included unique acts like the firefighters’ brass band Božejáci, the project Lufťáci, the Cimbal Hell Band, and the Prague Burlesque show.

Surprises abounded, such as the unveiling of the secret program “Zdena,” which turned out to be a show by Palaye Royale. Additionally, Ewa Farná premiered her music video for Jiří Mádl’s film “Waves.” The Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team delivered a breathtaking air show above the main stage. A new Fashion Area showcased Czech brands, hosted fashion shows, and provided a relaxing Vogue Zone where visitors could get professional makeovers.

Rock for People solidified its status as the leading festival in the Czech Republic and a top contender in Europe’s Medium-Sized Festival category, according to the European Festival Awards. The festival’s KB Future zone was a finalist for Best Brand Activation, highlighting its commitment to sustainability. Rock for People employs alternative energy sources, including hydrogen and solar panels, and sorts waste into 18 categories. Park 360 operates on circular economy principles, aiming to be climate neutral and energy self-sufficient by 2030.
