After Sunday night’s Super Bowl performance, there’s no doubt that Rihanna is BACK and arrived with a fiery red look that only she could werk, werk, werk…
Rihanna choosing to wear Salomons on one of the biggest stages in the world is proof that Salomon has made a mark on sneaker culture – as revealed in StockX’s January 2023 Big Facts report, Salomon was the fastest-growing sneaker brand on StockX in 2022, with a year-over-year trade increase north of 2,000% – trades increased 2,277% in 2022 vs. 2021.
12th February was the second biggest trade day for Salomon this year. The No. 1 biggest trade day was January 26, 2023 – this was the day Salomon’s highly anticipated XT-6 Recut Pack was released.
The Maison Margiela MM6 x Salomon Cross Low Drawstring that Riri wore to perform were trading for £164 and, as the popstar did what she does best, they sold for £448 (peak 173% increase) after her performance.
The model is still available on the primary market. Drew Haines, Director of Sneakers and Collectibles at StockX said: “We’d only seen three pre-Super Bowl trades since the shoe was released, and we’ve seen 11 new trades since her performance. It’s also worth noting that buyers and sellers are located around the world – including everywhere from the United States and Mexico to Great Britain and Germany.”
He continued: “We’ve seen a notable increase in the average resale price as well. The average price of the three pre-Super Bowl trades is $178. Meanwhile, the average resale price for the 11 trades that happened after Rihanna’s performance is $358.”
You are not going to be the only girl in the world wearing them, but you will for sure shine bright like a diamond.
