Whether queuing for the toilet, reapplying some lippy, or checking yourself out in the mirror, the humble bathroom is one of the few places left, where we’re in close and prolonged proximity with complete strangers. The only distraction? Wondering which cubicle will free up next.
But surprisingly, B Corp toilet paper brand Who Gives A Crap has uncovered that Brits are utilising this time wisely, and connecting with others, with over 1 in 4 (27%) confessing that they have had a bathroom DMC (deep meaningful chat) with someone, at least once before in their lifetime.
While over half (56%) say such convos usually occurred with someone they were close and comfortable with already, conversely, almost half (44%) say their bathroom heart-to-heart happened serendipitously with a complete and utter stranger…
Citing emotions of happiness (29%) confidence (27%) and feeling uplifted (26%) post the conversation, Brits are taking this one step further by putting the sage words of a stranger, or a trusted counsel of a loved one, directly into action, with the majority (58%) saying the’ve felt inspired to overhaul their life in one way or another, after a bathroom pep talk.
Want to wrap those feelings up and access them on demand? Who Gives A Crap has your back(side), with their latest limited edition, Happy TP™️. No longer does that bathroom joy have to be flushed down the drain after one restroom rendezvous, their most colourful, joyful, toilet paper edition yet, wrapped in 12 different designs will trigger your brain’s happy chemicals every toilet trip, with dopamine-inducing depictions of puppies, rainbows and affirmations.
Danny Alexander, Co-Founder and Chief of Product & Purpose at Who Gives A Crap commented: “This revelation proves what we’ve always believed to be true at Who Gives A Crap. The bathroom isn’t just a perfunctory place to relieve #1s and #2s, it can be a place of inspiration. And when you think of the amount of time we spend there – be it in our own homes, or further afield – it’s no surprise it can also be a place we connect with others about our shared experiences, while we catch a break from the everyday.
With our latest limited edition product, Happy TP, we wanted to take bathroom pep talks a step further by creating the most colourful, dopamine-inducing toilet paper, to spark happiness in an unexpected place. Now you can package up those good feels and access them whenever you want to.”
