Global sportswear company PUMA has today announced its latest event in its VELOPHASIS SOUND programme, a celebration of PUMA’s hybrid sneaker inspired by the 2000s, VELOPHASIS.
Bringing next-gen beats to cultural events this summer, PUMA is harnessing the power of sound to elevate emerging artists with its VELOPHASIS SOUND system. Its latest event, open to the public, will take place ahead of Carnival this August.
The modern installation, inspired by the futuristic design of the VELOPHASIS silhouette, is continuing to appear at key cultural moments throughout the summer, showcasing and providing a platform for the freshest talent in music today who are renowned for bringing future sounds to their genre of music at moments that matter. Appealing to sneakerheads and fashion-forward tastemakers alike, VELOPHASIS SOUND is a must-see pop-up for anyone interested in the future of sound and fashion.
PUMA’s VELOPHASIS SOUND’s next appearance will take place in the spirit of Carnival. Members of the public can join the unique gathering on 25th August, 18:00 – 23:00 at West Gallery Notting Hill and enjoy an unforgettable fusion of style, sound and flavour, with VELOPHASIS SOUND bringing together the top talents in music, fashion, and local authentic foods.
Taking VELOPHASIS SOUND for a spin at the Carnival pre-party, up-and-coming artists enlisted by PUMA to perform include British-Nigerian DJ to PinkPantheress Jjess and Ivor Novello Rising Star award winner Willow Kayne. In addition, guests can expect appearances from renowned British DJs such as Remi Burgz, Izzy Bossy, Selecta Suave, Keyrah and Rachel Anson.
The VELOPHASIS sneaker first arrived in January featuring an overstated shape that is wrapped with a mixture of technical and performance materials. The upper of the VELOPHASIS is built asymmetrically- its inserts are directly taken from the running of the 2000s but decked out in new materials. Honeycombed mesh, textured panels and an aggressive shape pay homage to the heritage of the 00’s PUMA COMPLETE line.
