PIZZAEXPRESS LAUNCHES CH-EAT SHEET FOR FOOTBALL NEWBIES

PizzaExpress is coming to the rescue of non-football fans ahead of this month’s tournament, with the launch of its game-changing Large Classic Football Ch-EAT Sheet. Offered up for free to football newbies ordering one of its delivery-exclusive Large Classic pizza bundles from Monday 10th June, the Ch-EAT Sheet allows casual fans to keep their footy-knowledge on-the-ball and avoid feeling left-out of the conversation this month.

Featuring the rules of the game, as well as common footballing expressions, the Large Classic Football Ch-EAT Sheet is designed to be sneakily stuck to the inside of your PizzaExpress box, so you can impress friends with your unrivalled football knowledge, without them suspecting a thing. The launch of the Ch-EAT Sheet follows new research by PizzaExpress which found that only a third (34%) of Brits believe that they understand all the rules of football.

The Large Classic Football Ch-EAT Sheet will be offered up as a free add-on to anyone ordering one of the brand’s new and delicious Large Classic pizza bundles via PizzaExpress Delivers. The latest addition to the menu, made with double the amount of dough as the brand’s Classic base, is the perfect pizza to share and enjoy with friends & family across the summer of sport. What’s more, the Large Classic bundles are 40% off throughout the tournament, with bundles including:

  • Dream Team – Large Classic pizza and two drinks
  • Star Players – Large Classic pizza, Dough Balls Doppio, and two drinks
  • The Greatest Duo – Large Classic pizza and one Dough Balls Doppio
  • Ultimate Formation – Two Large Classic pizzas and Double Dough Balls Doppio
  • Champion Podium – Three Large Classic pizzas and Double Dough Balls Doppio
  • MVPs (Most Valuable Pizzas) – Four Large Classic pizzas

And if that wasn’t enough, PizzaExpress is inciting some friendly competition into this month’s tournament by giving away one of its new Dough Ball Penalty Shoot-Out Boxes with any bundle order – including its recently launched Double Dough Balls Doppio. Friends and family will be able to bring the contest home and go head-to-head in the ultimate penalty shoot-out game where PizzaExpress’ Dough Balls take centre stage (just be careful not to eat any of the subs!).

With the off-side rule (28%), VAR (Video Assistant Referee) decisions (26%) and referee hand signals (25%) amongst the top three aspects of the beautiful game people don’t understand, almost three-quarters of Brits (71%) agree that the rules of football are confusing – with over a third (39%) of us admitting to feeling left-out of the conversation when around our football-fanatic friends.

And when it comes to big sporting occasions, the best thing, according to half of those surveyed (53%), is the atmosphere it creates across the nation. A further half (45%) of us agreed that the social element is often more exciting than the tournament itself, with big sporting occasions bringing over a third (35%) of friends and family together.

Jo Vaughton, Marketing Director at PizzaExpress, said:

“With an exciting summer of sport ahead of us, we know that it will be full of social gatherings and celebrations. Our new delicious Large Classic pizza – the ultimate sharing pizza – and the launch of our Football Ch-EAT Sheet and Dough Ball Penalty Shoot-Out are all about bringing people together, and making memories over this momentous summer.”

To better your football knowledge and get your hands on one of PizzaExpress’ Ch-EAT Sheets – or if it’s a friendly game of Dough Ball Penalty Shoot-Out you’re after – simply order via PizzaExpress Delivers here to order your Large Classic bundle, whilst stocks last, from Monday 10th June, at participating restaurants only.
