If you’re looking for some new music to get into during our COVID-19 boredom, we highly recommend listening to Finland’s new pop icon ALMA! The 23-year-old singer/songwriter has shocked the world with her flair and creativity; and after the incredible release of her lead single “Stay All Night”, we are so excited to hear what her brand new album “Have U Seen Her?” has in store after it’s release on 15th May! If you haven’t heard of ALMA as of yet, you’ll be very familiar with some of her brilliant songwriting credits, including writing hit songs for Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Charli XCX; and not to mention just coming off tour with Tove Lo! But, to gear us up for her debut epic release, ALMA shared two additional tracks, “King Of The Castle” and “Find Me”, with us as a tease for what’s to come!
ALMA has always been a key voice for young people on female empowerment through her music, and we’re excited to hear her point of view on current events affecting women around the globe; including body positivity and sexuality. She’s also been known to be very vocal on the importance of mental health, substance abuse and tackling social issues with straight forward-thinking and incredible positivity. When asked about her lead release “Stay All Night”, ALMA commented: “I wrote this song for myself, which confuses a lot of people as it feels like it’s for someone else. At the time I really needed some encouragement to be free and not think about the ‘what if’s’ in life. Now when I’m feeling anxious I just ask myself ‘would it really be that f**king bad?’ – maybe I should just stay all night.”
We’re super excited for “Have U Seen Her?” to hit our streaming library’s on the 15th May, but for now, check out “Stay All Night” here
