This week’s BT Sport Sunday night game features the San Antonio Spurs visiting the Milwaukee Bucks
Season so far:
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs are the perennial there or thereabouts team. There are a few things you can guarantee in life and a Spurs playoff appearance is one of them under their long time coach, Gregg Popovich.
The Spurs currently sit in the 6th spot in the Western Conference and despite not having Kawhi Leonard for most of the season, they are only a half game out of that all important 4th spot with 8 games left on the schedule.
Points: LaMarcus Aldridge 23.1
Rebounds: LaMarcus Aldridge 8.4
Assists: Tony Parker 3.9
For anyone who watched ‘The SportsHeads NBA’ show, you would have heard me call for Jason Kidd’s head a number of times and the Bucks finally listened. Jason Kidd coaching style did not fit the players and they needed to make a change.
The Bucks have continued to hover around .500 all season long and are on course to make the playoffs. Much like last year, they may very well be the team that nobody will want to match up against due in large part to the play of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Points: Giannis Antetokounmpo 27.3
Rebounds: Giannis Antetokounmpo 10.0
Assists: Eric Bledsoe 4.9
LaMarcus Aldridge (Spurs)
Over the last 4 games, LaMarcus has averaged 36.0 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game and 2.3 blocks per game. Unsurprising that kind of play has helped the Spurs win each of those games which have included wins over the Jazz, Timberwolves and the Warriors.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks)
Giannis has been playing like an MVP all season long and is carrying this team on most nights. He sat out the last game against the Bulls and hopefully he will be back for this one.
His scoring output has increased every season in the 5 years he has been in the league and he continues to grow into an elite player.
Projected Starting Lineups:
San Antonio Spurs
- Dejounte Murray
- Patty Mills
- Danny Green
- Kyle Anderson
- LaMarcus Aldridge
- Eric Bledsoe
- Sterling Brown
- Khris Middleton
- Giannis Antetokounmpo
- John Henson
This game features two teams fighting for playoff position in their respective conference and it makes for another fun game in the schedule. If Giannis is healthy then the Bucks should win this one with something to spare but if not, then this could be very close and the Spurs might just take this one on the road.
