NBA 2K27 is officially available, bringing a major overhaul to gameplay alongside new ways to experience MyCAREER, MyNBA, MyTEAM and The City.
The latest entry in the long-running basketball franchise from 2K and Visual Concepts has arrived on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch 2, with this year’s edition introducing some of the biggest changes to the series yet.
From a new Co-Ed City experience and the ability to create female MyPLAYERs to the new MyCAREER Eras mode and a 100-year MyNBA universe, NBA 2K27 is designed to give players more control over how they play both on and off the court.
The game is available across three editions: the Standard Edition (£59.99) featuring Victor Wembanyama, the Deluxe Edition (£89.99) featuring Caitlin Clark, and the limited-time Ultra Edition (£129.99) featuring Derrick Rose.

NBA 2K27 Overhauls Gameplay
At the heart of NBA 2K27 is a revamped gameplay system designed around balance, skill and giving players more freedom on both ends of the floor.
Powered by ProPLAY, the latest instalment introduces new offensive tools, including step-through up-and-unders and a more customisable dribbling system, giving players additional ways to create space and get around defenders.
Defensive gameplay has also received a substantial overhaul. Hands-up defence has been redesigned alongside an updated shot contest system, expanded defensive cutoffs and a new collision system.
The Takeover system has also been revamped, while smarter AI aims to make every possession feel more reactive and competitive.

NBA 2K27 Introduces Its First Co-Ed City
One of the biggest changes coming to The City is the introduction of the franchise’s first Co-Ed City.
For the first time, players can create a female MyPLAYER and take them into The City, with male and female MyPLAYERs competing alongside one another across multiplayer modes.
Importantly, both are built using the same framework for on-court performance, ensuring parity between MyPLAYERs regardless of gender.
Several City locations have also been refreshed following community feedback. The REC, The Theater, Ante-Up and Seasonal Parks all feature new environments, while The REC now rotates between five different venues.
Street Kings has also received a new legendary court, while Daily Rivals introduces daily standings for players looking for some extra competition.
Another major addition is Crew HQ, which acts as a dedicated home for squads. Players can use the space to practise, compete in ranked matches, organise private games, progress their Crew and take part in seasonal tournaments.
For newer players, Casual Corner provides a more relaxed introduction to The City.
MyCAREER Gets a Major New Mode
MyCAREER is receiving one of its biggest updates in years with the introduction of MyCAREER Eras.
The new mode allows players to take their NBA career through one of five legendary eras, giving them the opportunity to rewrite basketball history while building their own legacy.
Players can also experience “Fire & Concrete”, described by 2K as the most expansive cinematic MyCAREER story in the series so far, centred around a modern comeback story.
For the first time, MyCAREER also supports co-op gameplay, allowing players to team up with a friend as they pursue NBA success together.
MyNBA Goes 100 Years Into the Future
For franchise fans, NBA 2K27’s MyNBA mode is getting a major rebuild focused on the fundamentals of running an NBA organisation.
Community-requested roster tools have been added alongside improved CBA contract negotiations and a new GM Trust system.
The latter puts a player’s reputation as an executive on the line, adding another layer of consequence to decisions made away from the basketball court.
The biggest addition is MyNBA Legacy, a new player-locked RPG-style experience that allows players to explore a massive 100-year basketball universe.
More MyPLAYER Builder Options
NBA 2K27 also introduces what Visual Concepts describes as the most versatile MyPLAYER Builder in franchise history.
The system has been redesigned around Badge Tokens, revamped Badge Progression and a new Synergy system, giving players more ways to shape their preferred build and playing style.
Female MyPLAYERs can now also be created and taken into the Co-Ed City, opening up a completely new route through the game’s multiplayer experience.
MyTEAM Makes Every Card Matter
MyTEAM is also getting several major changes, with NBA 2K27 built around the idea that every card has value.
The expanded Exchange now accepts any Player Card, excluding Free Agent cards, while the new Player XP system allows every eligible card to level up through gameplay.
The Auction House has also been unified across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, creating a larger shared pool of community-listed cards.
Fan-favourite modes including Triple Threat Online and Clutch Time Online return as part of a rotating selection of limited-time modes.
The W and MyWNBA Return
NBA 2K27 continues to expand its WNBA-focused experiences through The W and MyWNBA.
Both modes offer dedicated single-player experiences, with updates including a Build-as-You-Go progression system, an updated Game Attribute System and new Team Badges and Teammate Badges.
Players can also take on the role of running a WNBA franchise, adding another management-focused experience to this year’s game.

NBA 2K HQ App Adds More Ways to Play
Alongside the game itself, players can use the NBA 2K HQ app to manage parts of their NBA 2K27 experience away from their console.
The app allows players to create builds from anywhere and upload them directly to their console, while builds can also be shared with friends using QR codes.
Other features include Crew and friend messaging, daily leaderboards, rewards tracking, an improved Face Scan and mobile-exclusive daily login rewards.
NBA 2K27 on Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo Switch 2 players are also getting several platform-specific improvements.
For the first time, NBA 2K27 offers a 60 FPS Performance Mode on Nintendo Switch 2, alongside a Fidelity Mode for players who prefer enhanced visual quality.
The game also takes advantage of Switch 2 features with party-style motion mini-games, including a 3PT Contest, Blacktop-style games, Dunk Contest and Pop-a-Shot.
Nintendo Switch 2 players can also make use of GameShare and full mouse support.
NBA 2K27 Adds NVIDIA DLSS 5 on PC
PC players with compatible hardware can take advantage of NVIDIA DLSS 5, bringing enhanced visual fidelity to NBA 2K27.
The technology introduces 3D-Guided Neural Rendering on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, with NVIDIA and Visual Concepts working together to improve materials and lighting while maintaining the integrity of the game’s athlete scans.
DLSS 5 is optional for players with compatible GeForce RTX 50 Series hardware, including GeForce NOW Ultimate users.

With its combination of revamped gameplay, the first Co-Ed City, MyCAREER Eras, a 100-year MyNBA universe, expanded MyPLAYER options and substantial MyTEAM changes, NBA 2K27 represents one of the franchise’s most feature-packed releases yet.
