Must-have Boots for Winter

With the chillier season change just around the corner, it’s always a good idea to review your wardrobe and see if there’s anything that’s due for an upgrade. Or maybe you just want to revamp your style and give yourself a whole new look!

With so many up-and-coming trends already on the way for winter, why not beat the crowd and become a trendsetter for a change? Winter boots are something that’ll never go out of season, and there’s certainly no reason for you to have to sacrifice fashion for the sake of keeping toasty. The iconic Dune London boots, for example, are something that we would recommend as a must-have winter boot, and there are so many others to suggest that everyone should own at least one pair. Keep reading below for some of the winter boots that we certainly won’t be able to live without.

Why Invest in a Boot?

You might be wondering, why invest in a boot? A winter boot specifically? Surely they are just like any other shoe? Well, you’re not wrong. We would definitely recommend you invest in a few good pairs of boots with the weather in mind. Winter is a much chillier time of year, and keeping yourself warm while you are out and about is more important than ever. A good winter boot will ensure that they’ll be able to hold up for a few years and won’t wear and tear in snow or rain.

Being fashionable is a bonus, of course, something that is certainly not new. Celebrities in the 70s were seen pairing over-the-knee boots with their outfits for the sake of style and fashion, and today, some of those trends are making a comeback. With so many styles to choose from, it can get overwhelming, so we’ve narrowed it down to a list for you to pick and choose from (though we’d recommend them all!)

1.   Laced-Up Ankle Boots

Perhaps one of the most iconic and timeless styles of boots, and for good reason, a laced ankle boot is definitely one of the pairs that we would recommend getting. Not only are they comfortable even when wearing them for a lengthy time, but the tough soles also give you plenty of tread as well as a little bit of a platform as they aren’t completely flat. The lace factor also ensures comfort, and you can run around doing your errands all day; these won’t need readjusting even once. Some boots even come with the option of being lined with fur on the inside, keeping both your feet and your ankles nice and warm.

2.   Calf Boots

Whether you’re working in an indoor environment or simply staying at home, it’s pretty obvious that the indoor temperature is generally a lot warmer than outside. But who said you still can’t wear dresses in the colder months? Layered with a warm turtleneck, a dress is still a stylish outfit that goes perfectly with a good pair of calf boots. These longer-styled shoes ensure warmth for when you’re out and about but also style really well with sweater-style tops or short dresses.

3.   Padded Boots

These are one of the most popular styles of boots for the winter, and we’re totally on board with them. The padded aspect of this type of shoe is what makes them so trendy year after year, and we’d even go as far as to say you don’t know comfort until you’ve tried on a pair of padded boots. If you want to feel like you’re walking on clouds, then we’d suggest you buy a pair as quickly as possible. To make the whole experience even better, padded boots ensure that your feet stay as warm as possible. These are available in both ankle length and even some longer styles if that is your preference.

4.   Mid-Heel Boots

Some days just call for some heeled-boot action, and we can’t get enough of a good mid-heel boot. The classic pair of boots is the perfect heel height where you can walk around comfortably enough, but others will hear you coming a mile away with the satisfying clicky-clacky noises they make. Slouch boots, a variation of the mid-heel boots, are something which celebrities like Anne Hatheway have been seen wearing recently, so you can be sure that they’ll be in season. There are so many colours to choose from, but we say if you want to invest in one pair, go for black leather. Its versatility means that it can go with so many different outfit combinations and can even be utilised beyond the winter months if you feel like it.
