London’s BMX community was out in force this weekend as Monster Energy’s globally recognised Cash-Up BMX series rolled into Shoreditch for an adrenaline-fuelled day of tricks, competition and community spirit.
Held at OVERGROUND LDN in ELY’s Yard, near the iconic Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, the free-to-attend event attracted riders from across the UK and around the world. Competitors battled it out in a unique cash-for-tricks format, where riders earned instant rewards for landing some of the biggest and most creative tricks of the day.
A London-Inspired BMX Playground
What made this edition of Cash-Up particularly special was its custom-built skatepark, designed by BMX icon and Monster Energy athlete Dan Lacey. The course paid tribute to London’s culture and streetscape, featuring distinctive elements including a London taxi obstacle, a Marshall amp stack and a drop-in access rail.
The bespoke setup transformed Shoreditch into a BMX playground, creating an unforgettable backdrop for both professional athletes and emerging riders looking to showcase their skills.
