Rosewood London is marking Afternoon Tea Week with an elegant afternoon tea inspired by the timeless works of Claude Monet, transforming some of the Impressionist master’s most celebrated paintings into beautifully crafted pastries and desserts. Served in the hotel’s Mirror Room, the Monet Art Afternoon Tea explores the artist’s distinctive use of colour, light, and texture through a carefully composed menu of savouries, patisserie, and signature cakes.
Curated by Executive Pastry Chef Mark Perkins, the menu draws inspiration from both Monet’s artistic legacy and London’s thriving creative scene. Perkins explains that the city’s rich artistic landscape, alongside Rosewood London’s own collection of contemporary and traditional artworks, helped shape the concept behind the experience. The result is an afternoon tea that celebrates fine art through flavour, presentation, and craftsmanship.

Perkins explains that the city’s rich artistic landscape, alongside Rosewood London’s own collection of contemporary and traditional artworks, helped shape the concept behind the experience, taking visual cues from the artist’s most renowned works and translating their colour palette, textures, and composition onto the plate.
The menu features three intricate Art Cakes, including ‘The Water Lily Pond’, featuring pistachio, cherry blossom, and matcha, ‘Impression, Sunrise’, combining almond sponge with yellow peach, vanilla, and raspberry, and ‘Woman with a Parasol’, pairing apricot, rosemary, vanilla, and white chocolate beneath an elegant chocolate umbrella.
Alongside the pastries, guests can enjoy a refined selection of savouries including Lobster & Prawn Profiteroles, Camembert Custard Tart with caramelised pear, Cured Salmon on toasted brioche, and Egg & Mayo topped with King’s Imperial Caviar, before finishing with freshly baked plain and raisin scones served with Cornish clotted cream, homemade lemon curd, and English strawberry jam. Those looking to elevate the experience even further can also opt for a Champagne pairing or Rosewood London’s premium Caviar Ritual, served with traditional garnishes and warm blinis.
Every afternoon tea is accompanied by a choice of teas including Rosewood London’s Signature Tea Blend, created around premium Darjeeling leaves – often referred to as the “Champagne of teas” for their distinctive muscatel character. Rose petals, elderflower, hibiscus, and vanilla add delicate floral, fruity, and creamy notes that complement the menu without overpowering its intricate flavours. The bespoke blend provides an elegant finishing touch to an experience where every element truly feels like a work of art.
The Monet Art Afternoon Tea is priced at £80 per person (or £108 with Champagne), served daily at Rosewood London between 12pm and 5.45pm. You can view the full menu and book your experience for Afternoon Tea Week right here.
