To celebrate 10 years of Surface design, innovation and craftsmanship, Microsoft has partnered with London’s iconic design house, Liberty, to create a new and exclusive special-edition device and accessory. The unexpected partnership combines Microsoft Surface’s unique approach to product craftmanship with the intricately hand-drawn florals and heritage that Liberty is famed for. With inspiration born from the vibrant blue of the Windows 11 Bloom, the Surface Pro keyboard** and laser-etched Surface Pro 9 have been crafted with an exclusive Liberty print.
A little over three years ago, a chance meeting between Microsoft’s Principal Designer, Elliott Hsu, and Liberty’s Lead Designer, Adam Herbert led to a fruitful discussion about the delicacy and true purpose of design. The two creatives realised they had a shared commitment to originality, and a belief in human-centred design for all that is both beautiful and useful. And so, a seed was planted to come together to create something that was as stunning as it was utilitarian. Breathtaking art and iconic innovation come together with Surface Pro 9 Liberty Special Edition. One-of-a-kind engraved floral design on the new Sapphire Surface Pro 9 is as beautiful outside, as it is powerful inside with an Intel® EvoTM 12th Gen processor, giving you the tablet flexibility, you want, and the laptop performance and battery life you need, to move through your day.
“Windows is about putting people in the centre. At Microsoft, we’re human-centred and human- focused. We want to empower everyone on the planet to be able to do more and to create.” – Elliot Hsu, Microsoft’s Principal Designer

The pattern, overlayed onto close-up bloom petals, represents the two brands fusing together. Liberty creators designed the print by hand – a process that led to a new level of bespoke detail in the final colours, materials and engraving of the hardware and integrated click-in software experience. The result: 150 years of Liberty’s art and design has been adapted into a modern,
