As London’s summer theatre season gets underway, Marylebone hotspot The Italian Greyhound has introduced a new pre-theatre menu designed for diners looking for excellent food, generous portions, and enough time to comfortably make curtain call.
Available daily between 4.30pm and 6pm, the menu delivers exceptional value, priced at £18 for two courses or £26 for three. Guests can choose from starters including Pea, Spinach & Fontina Arancini, Burrata with saffron pear, sesame and honeycomb, or Sea Bass with watermelon, meyer lemon and capers, before moving on to dishes such as Courgette Pesto Cavatelli with smoked burrata, Lamb Ragu Pappardelle with Chianti and rosemary, or Chicken Milanese with truffle butter and potato fritti.
For those looking to start things properly, the freshly baked bread with olive oil and balsamic or the crisp panelle with harissa aioli pair particularly well with a glass of wine before the meal begins. To close the meal, the Pistachio & Amaretto Tiramisu deserves special mention, made fresh daily on site. Delivering nutty sweetness in abundance, it’s one of the few tiramisus we’ve tried that can genuinely rival the benchmark set by Elaine’s by Aldo Zilli.
For diners venturing beyond the pre-theatre menu, the Steak Tartare with pickled walnut ketchup is a must for tartare lovers, while the Disco Scallops with fennel and sea herbs showcase the kitchen’s seafood expertise. The Aubergine & Smoked Scamorza Parmigiana is also worth an order, having become a favourite among regulars and staff alike.
