Mariage Frères Marks 170th Anniversary with Enchanting Blossom Teas

Maison Mariage Frères is celebrating 170 years of passion for tea with a 2024 millésime of one of its emblematic teas, ‘Sakura, Sakura !’, along with new plum-tree fragranced UME CHA 2024. Along with the teas, Mariage Frères introduces an array of cherry blossom and plum inspired delicacies, including Sakura, Sakura ! infused must-haves, at its Covent Garden tea emporium.

This special edition of Sakura, Sakura! green tea perfectly embodies the transition into Spring. Delicate cherry blossom notes take centre stage, while subtle floral undertones gracefully accompany the aromatic journey of this tea. Making its debut in 2024 is UME, UME!, with a vintage set to be created each year. The inaugural offering in this tea series is UME CHA, boasting a captivating floral essence and a silky texture, highlighted by rounded notes of plum blossom.

The Spring collection also sees Sakura Blue and Sakura White Tea at the Maison’s forefront, each offering unique characteristics. Sakura Blue is renowned for its iconic blue hue, while Sakura White Tea entices with its magnificently gourmet aromas.

Renowned also for its gourmet confectionary, Mariage Frères introduces the Sakura Flower (£13, or £9.50 to take away) , a decadent almond Sakura, Sakura !-infused milk mousse on a crispy white almond dragée base, with a delicious floral core balancing out the flavours.
