What To drink now: Chivas X MUFC

Chivas caught up with Manchester United players including Juan Mata, Abbie McManus, Victor Lindelof and Amy Turner as it kicks off its second year as the Club’s Official Global Spirits Partner, at the start of the 2019/20 season, which sees Manchester United’s two teams in the top flight simultaneously for the first time.

The behind-the-scenes interviews, which can be viewed above, were captured while filming the latest instalment of Chivas’ global ‘Success is a Blend’ campaign, which celebrates Chivas and Manchester United’s collective belief that blended is better – in life, football and Scotch – and has been released ahead of the Women’s Super League season. Kicking off on Saturday 7th September, Manchester United will take on Manchester City.

The footage captures the excitement of women’s team players Amy Turner and Mary Earps as they embark on their first season in the Women’s Super League, with the pair highlighting the importance of blending hard work, honesty and togetherness if they are to succeed in the top division.

Asked about their footballing heroes, Manchester United’s latest signing, Abbie McManus, hails Rio Ferdinand, while for Juan Mata it is following in his father’s footsteps, and Amy Turner calls out Manchester United legend, Nemanja Vidic.

Both Amy Turner and Juan Mata are full of anticipation as the men’s and women’s teams compete at the highest level:

Juan Mata: “I think it is fantastic. It was great news when they launched a Manchester United’s women’s team and it was great to see how they won almost every single game. It’s brilliant to see them in the first division and I hope they have a good season.”

Amy Turner: “I think it is amazing. I think that if we can both achieve something this year it will be brilliant for the club. To have us both in the top league is something special.”

Just as Chivas brings together Scotland’s best malt and grain whiskies to create something extraordinary in the bottle, Manchester United brings together the world’s best footballers, a dedicated club team and a legion of fans all around the world to create extraordinary results on the pitch.

As the season gets underway, Chivas and Manchester United will also be offering one lucky fan a pair of Blended Season Tickets, providing access to all the men’s and women’s matches throughout the season. The competition will be shared with Manchester United fans within the coming weeks.
