With less than a quarter (21 percent) of workers being given an early finish for the big game on Thursday, Krispy Kreme is helping Brits try a sweeter approach to convince their boss into time off to support the national squad by offering a FREE Original GlazedTM 4-pack with every £9.95 Original Glazed dozen purchased on Thursday 20th June.
New research commissioned by Krispy Kreme revealed that when work has clashed with something else they’d rather do, Brits have pulled the red card by calling in sick (31 percent), pretending to have a family emergency (14 percent) or faking a doctor’s appointment (9 percent). Workers also admit to putting in extra long hours (45 percent), feigning sickness around the office e.g. coughing or a lost voice (11 percent) and dropping hints (9 percent) to try to wangle time off.
But instead of resorting to duplicity, Krispy Kreme is encouraging Brits to use a sweet treat to help their bosses look favourably on an early finish this Thursday in order to let them support their squad.
In Scotland Krispy Kreme also has a limited-edition doughnut available for the duration of the tournament with The Saltire, a caramel fudge KremeTM doughnut decorated with blue icing and white frosting. The Scottish-themed doughnut is available from 14th June – 21st July, across Scottish DFD outlets and retail shops. Don’t fumble the ball and miss out!
