KFC OPENS JAPANESE DINING-INSPIRED RESTAURANT

To celebrate the launch of its new Teriyaki Burger, KFC is taking inspo from the ever-growing Japanese trend of Omakase by launching its very own Japanese-inspired dining experience. The new experience embodies the essence of Omakase – which translates as ‘I’ll leave it up to you’ – by putting diners in the hands of the Colonel for a taste-sensation like no other.

On Friday 4th August only, fans who manage to secure a reservation will be able to head down to the all-new KFC London Waterloo restaurant, which has been transformed for a limited time only into an Omakase restaurant, featuring an elegant Japanese aesthetic, highchairs and of course, the chef’s Colonel’s Table.

Once seated, fans will get the chance to try a limited-edition Japanese-inspired KFC menu, curated by Japanese chef, Akito Greenland, featuring six courses that playfully blend the nation’s favourite fried chicken with iconic Japanese cuisine.

The six courses will include KFC Yakitori, KFC’s signature Popcorn Chicken served on a bamboo skewer, marinated in the brand-new Teriyaki Sauce; KFC Karaage, crispy Japanese Original Recipe Fried Chicken coated in KFC’s signature seasoning paired with ponzu; and Mini Chicken Fillet Nigiri, a succulent crispy Mini Chicken Fillet on a bed of delicate sushi rice, finished with a brushstroke of creamy wasabi-infused Garlic Buttermilk Mayo. Of course, no KFC Japanese dining experience would be complete without KFC’s latest addition, the Teriyaki Burger, which rounds off the menu for an unbeatable finale. Now that’s what you call a finger lickin’ good feast!

Akito comments:I’m a big fan of KFC, so when they approached me to curate their Omakase menu, I just couldn’t say no! Getting the chance to fuse their most-loved menu items with authentic Japanese cuisine has been a dream come true and I can’t wait for everyone to try them!

Reservations for the Omakase experience open on 31st July via the link HERE for just £11, with 100% of proceeds going to The KFC Foundation, supporting grassroots organisations across the country who are empowering young people to unleash their potential and build a positive future.

Missed out on a booking? Fear not, the Teriyaki Burger and Bites are available now for a limited time only until 3rd September.

So, head down to KFC to try the mash up of the summer – or bring the sauce straight to your door with KFC Delivery, available nationwide via the KFC App or https://www.kfc.co.uk/order-online
