KFC is swapping soft drinks for wine this August Bank Holiday as it teams up with French wine favourite La Vieille Ferme to launch Coq au Vin – a limited-edition pop-up wine bar celebrating one of the most unexpected food pairings of the summer.
Running from 28–31 August 2026 at Kachette Annex in Shoreditch, the immersive experience will pair KFC’s iconic fried chicken with La Vieille Ferme’s bestselling wines, proving that buckets and bottles belong together after all.
For London foodies looking for a unique Bank Holiday experience, Coq au Vin promises everything from crispy tenders and hot wings to rosé, red and sparkling wine – all served with a playful twist on traditional wine tasting.
KFC’s fried chicken meets France’s favourite “Chicken Wine”
The collaboration has been years in the making, with La Vieille Ferme affectionately known by many wine lovers as the original “Chicken Wine” thanks to its famous illustrated label.
Now, that reputation becomes reality with a pop-up dedicated entirely to pairing fried chicken with French wine.
Guests can expect combinations including:
- Popcorn Chicken with La Vieille Ferme Sparkling Rosé
- Hot Wings paired with the fruity La Vieille Ferme Rouge
- Original Recipe Tenders served alongside either the crisp Rosé or refreshing Blanc
Rather than formal wine flights, the experience is designed to be relaxed, fun and unapologetically indulgent.
What’s on the Coq au Vin menu?
Every £15 ticket includes a 90-minute seating and the full tasting experience.
Featured pairings include:
- Popcorn Chicken + Sparkling Rosé
- Hot Wings + Rouge
- Original Recipe Tenders + Rosé or Blanc
- Signature dips including Original Sauce, Supercharger and Texas BBQ
To mark the collaboration, La Vieille Ferme is also reviving its legendary Chicken Wine label exclusively for the event.

Why this food collaboration makes perfect sense
Phoebe Syms, Fame & Partnerships Lead at KFC UK & Ireland, said the partnership was almost inevitable.
“We’re iconic fried chicken. They’re the iconic Chicken Wine. Coq au Vin is one of those partnerships that just makes sense – and frankly, we can’t believe it’s taken this long.”
Andrew Bayley, Managing Director at Famille Perrin UK, added that the pop-up is about challenging traditional food and wine rules by bringing together two much-loved brands in an unexpected setting.
