Justin Bieber is at it again and this time, he’s shocked the world with a revealing yet in-depth interview with Complex magazine. Bieber, 21, covered the magazine back in 2012 as a fresh-faced 18 year-old but this time, things have changed and so has his perspective on things.
The 21 year-old revealed the ins and outs of his life growing up – from his turbulent relationship with Selena Gomez to a reflection of his bad boy antics as a teen sensation. “I was doing so many things that I shouldn’t even be on the planet still,” the singer claims. “I’m not going to say I’m sorry for the things that I’ve done because I think that it allows me to tell a story.”
The star also described his past relationship with Selena Gomez as a ‘marriage kind of thing’ whilst also claiming that they were both completely ‘invested’ in each other – “My identity was in her…her identity was in me.” As much as we adored ‘Jelena’, it seems that Justin has learnt a lot from his past (including his incident with the bucket which he describes as ‘ostracizing’) but we still love him nonetheless.
On the plus side, the ‘What Do U Mean’ singer has since apologised for his tumultuous antics. We won’t go into too much detail, but it seems that the star has found hope in not only his fans, but in his faith. “It doesn’t make you a Christian just by going to church,” he tells Complex. “I think that going to church is a fellowship, it’s a relationship. It’s what we’re here on the earth to do, to have this connection that you feel there’s no insecurities. I think that’s where we need to be.”
However, he clarifies, “Like I said, you don’t need to go to church to be a Christian. If you go to Taco Bell, that doesn’t make you a taco.”
We couldn’t have said it any better, Justin.
