Scottish actor James McAvoy, best known for portraying Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise, has been confirmed as a major guest at MCM Birmingham Comic Con 2025, organisers ReedPop have announced.
The award-winning star of Split and Glass will appear at the NEC Birmingham on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November 2025, where he’ll take part in a spotlight panel discussing his celebrated career, alongside opportunities for autographs and photo ops with fans.
From Shameless to the X-Men Universe
McAvoy first rose to fame through British television, most notably in Channel 4’s cult classic Shameless. His breakthrough on the big screen came with The Last King of Scotland alongside Forest Whitaker — a performance that earned critical acclaim. He followed that with Atonement opposite Keira Knightley, and the action hit Wanted, before donning the mantle of Professor X in X-Men: First Class (2011).
Since then, McAvoy has built an eclectic filmography, starring in everything from Filth and Atomic Blonde to It Chapter Two, solidifying his reputation as one of the UK’s most versatile actors.
