Hotel Chocolat has introduced six new single-origin products, crafted in-house to highlight the unique, fruity profile of cacao sourced from their partners, Saint Lucian Island Growers. Available in two grades – a malty, floral 50% and a 70% with almond and cherry notes – this single-origin chocolate offers a true taste of Saint Lucia, now available to be enjoyed in the UK.
Available only at Hotel Chocolat both in-store and online, the new products are 50% Batons, 50% Drinking Chocolate, 50% Slab, 70% Batons, 70% Drinking Chocolate and 70% Slab.
The six new products are a celebration of cacao, grown using a method Hotel Chocolat call gentle farming – farming that is positive for nature and positive for farmers, and that helps both to thrive. They also mark the Island Growers Programme, which ensures that the farmers who provide the cacao are both paid and treated fairly.
The distinctive flavour profile of the Saint Lucian cacao allows the single-origin chocolate to achieve complex notes that are typically only possible by adding additional flavours. This range offers a unique taste experience, with the 70% dark and 50% milk chocolate unlocking entirely different flavour profiles compared to the house-grade chocolate.
Priced at £8.95, the Batons are crafted exclusively with cacao from Hotel Chocolat’s farmer partners at the Saint Lucia cacao farm. There are 15 batons in each box, with the 50% variant encompassing malty, fruity, and floral notes, and the 70% variant serving up delicious red cherry and almond notes.
The range also contains 50% drinking chocolate, with 10 single serves priced at £14,95, and Slabs in both chocolate grades priced at £5.45.
