Hot Takes for Week 2 of the NFL

The NFL has proven to be entertaining already with just two weeks done. Week 2 of the NFL was filled with many injuries and surprising wins and losses throughout the league. With what we have seen so far from the teams, here are a few hot takes for the season.

Do the Saints actually have a chance this year in the postseason?

The Saints have started the season hot with a 2-0 record. With a total of 91 points in the last two games compared to their opponents, a combined 29 points. Does this hot start mean that the Saint fans start chanting Super Bowl? I would say not so fast. First, they have to keep their eye on the playoffs. Derek Carr needs to keep up the work and step up for the big games. He needs to keep the turnovers to a minimum and keep throwing touchdowns. Kamara’s performances so far have been amazing, but how far will he be able to keep up throughout the season? Although the Saints have an easy schedule this year compared to the rest of the league, that doesn’t translate into playoff success. This schedule might be good for first place in the division, but they need to be able to show up for big games. I believe the Saints will go into the playoffs but not make it past round 1 or 2. The hype for them throughout the season will get higher, but they will fall short once the time matters.

Daniel Jones Needs to Get Replaced

With the loss against the Washington Commanders, Jones’s job must come into question. However, he showed the tiniest bit of potential and kept the fight up against the Commanders by throwing two touchdowns. Two touchdowns are not enough to keep his job. I think Jones should not start against the Browns. Brian Daboll needs to think of the success of the team rather than feelings. Drew Lock, the backup, has at least a little bit of success in his career; the same cannot be said for Jones. Although Lock may not be the final man, he should be the man for now. Giants need to try something or anything to have a chance of winning at least one game.

Are the Ravens in Trouble?

Starting 0-2 is not the worst thing when you play good teams. Everyone understands losing against the Chiefs, the back-to-back champions. However, losing against the Raiders, who last made the playoffs in the 2021 season, is not the best look. When should Ravens fans start worrying? I would start worrying now. The Ravens had a lot of hype coming into the season, but so far, the hype has been for nothing. Coming back from 0-2 to the playoffs is a steep climb to the top. When will Lamar Jackson step up and start winning games? It is not all about Jackson; but he is the leader of the team, and he has to start leading the team to victory.

Are the Steelers lucky?

So far, the Steelers are 2-0. In their first game, they won without any touchdowns. In their second game, they won by one touchdown. How many more games can the Steelers have with no offense power? Can Justin Fields actually help the Steelers continue winning, or will Russell Wilson be back soon? It’s a shock that the Steelers won any games, and it’ll be a shock if they win again. We’ll have to see if Tomlin will have a winning record again. Right now, until they figure out their offense, the Steelers have to thank their defense for their wins and keep blessing TJ Watt with his sacks.

Can the Panthers Actually Win?

The Panthers are benching Bryce Young already with only two games in the season completed. Will Andy Dalton help the offense start moving? Probably not. I do not think anything will help the Panthers in a few years. Dalton has not helped any of the teams he has been a part of in the past few years. The big question for the Panthers is whether they can win one game. Right now, the answer looks like no. The only hope in the future is that the Panthers will play the Giants on November 10th.

Are the Cardinals Actually Good?

Kyler Murray has been popping off recently. In his game against the Rams, he went crazy with three touchdowns. The Cardinals win against the Rams 41-10. The Cardinals choked against the Bills in the second half. The game against the Lions will be a good game to see what the Cardinals’ season will be like. They have the chance to have a winning record with Murray and his weapons on the offense.
