Since 1998, the MTV Staying Alive Foundation has been on a mission to raise awareness and prevent HIV among young people around the world.
But why HIV? Well, since 2001 there has been a 50% increase in HIV–related deaths in young people between the ages of 10 and 19 years of age and a staggering 42% of new HIV infections globally were among 15 to 24 year olds.
The MTV Staying Alive Foundation has pioneered youth-led and youth-focused approaches to HIV prevention.
So how can you help?
We’re looking for budding walkers to help us take part in and help us fundraise in the 30th annual AIDS Walk New York, on May 17, 2015.
