HBO has unveiled the second official teaser for its highly anticipated Harry Potter television series, giving fans another magical glimpse at the upcoming adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
The eight-episode first season is set to debut at Christmas 2026 on HBO, with the series available to stream exclusively on HBO Max in the UK and Ireland.
Following the release of the first teaser earlier this year, the latest footage offers another look at the new interpretation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved wizarding world as a new generation of actors step into some of its most iconic roles.
A New Beginning at Hogwarts
The first season of the HBO Original series will follow Harry Potter during his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
After spending his childhood living with the Dursleys, Harry’s life changes forever when a mysterious letter arrives inviting him to Hogwarts. As he discovers a hidden world filled with magic, friendship and adventure, Harry also begins to uncover secrets surrounding his own past — and the return of the darkest wizard of all.
The television adaptation is expected to explore the events of the original book in considerably more detail, with the longer format allowing the series to revisit moments and characters that received less attention in the previous film adaptation.
The official Harry Potter website has described the series as an adaptation that will remain authentic to the original books, while also allowing room for new details and previously unseen moments.
Meet the New Harry Potter Cast
The series features an entirely new generation of actors taking on the roles made famous by the original film franchise.

The Hogwarts faculty includes an impressive line-up of established British and international talent, with John Lithgow playing Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.

Harry Potter Returns This Christmas
With the second teaser now released, anticipation is building for the return to Hogwarts later this year.
The new HBO adaptation represents the first time the original Harry Potter books will be reimagined as a long-form television series, giving the story considerably more room to explore its characters, magical world and smaller details.
For fans who have been waiting to return to Hogwarts, Christmas 2026 can’t come soon enough.
