Hey, are you ready for this? Are you hanging on the edge of your seat? Hard Rock International is kicking off its annual celebration of the life and music of the legendary Freddie Mercury, by hosting “Freddie for a Week” from Thursday 5 September – Freddie Mercury’s birthday – through to Thursday 12 September 2019.
In honor of the iconic frontman, Hard Rock Cafe International will be rocking with Freddie-themed events, the Freddie Moustache Milkshake and exclusive merchandise that benefits The Mercury Phoenix Trust, a UK charity created in memory of the late Freddie Mercury. Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor, together with their manager Jim Beach set up the trust to support the global fight against HIV/AIDS.
To commemorate Freddie, with a celebration as memorable as the rock legend himself, staff at Hard Rock Cafe London on Old Park Lane will be dusting down their catsuits and donning their fake moustaches to become Freddie For A Day on Thursday 5th September.
The special party located in the iconic restaurant’s Rock Room will include an epic Queen soundtrack, with live tribute band ‘‘Monarchy” performing some of the legendary tracks for guests over delicious food and drink. Guests can also enter into a best dressed competition with prizes for the best Freddie outfit.
During this unique week of celebrations, fans who head to Hard Rock can dig into a Freddie’s Moustache Milkshake, so delicious it will make them question if it’s real life or if it’s just fantasy. The limited edition shake combines bourbon and dark rum with vanilla ice cream and dark chocolate sauce, topped with white chocolate whipped cream and an iconic chocolate brownie mustache. The Instagram-worthy milkshake also comes in a non-alcoholic version for fans of all ages to enjoy. The shake will also be available at Hard Rock Cafe’s newest restaurant, Hard Rock Cafe Piccadilly Circus.
Those looking to celebrate while wearing Freddie-inspired merchandise can stop by the Cafe’s Rock Shop® or visit https://shop.hardrock.com to purchase limited-edition t-shirts and a pin featuring an iconic image of Freddie on stage.
