Famous Fans Who Could be at the NBA Finals

The NBA finals games are huge events. The buzz around a city playing for a championship is always electric. Bars and restaurants host watch parties, a huge influx of people wear jerseys on the streets, and the stadiums are packed to the brim.

Even if you’re watching at home, you might just recognize some faces, not on the court but in the stands. Here is a list of some of the most famous fans, for each team, you might just see at the 2024 NBA finals.

Tom Brady – Celtics Fan

Now retired, the greatest American Football player ever might have some free time to catch a game. Brady played for the New England Patriots for over 20 years immersing him in Boston sports culture forever.

The NFL legend retired in 2023 after winning seven Superbowls, six with New England, and throwing for the most passing yards and touchdowns of all time. Don’t be surprised if Brady is flashing a couple of those rings at the camera during this series.

Mark Cuban – Mavericks fan/owner

The most certain person on this list to be at every one of these games, the Mavericks owner and superfan is one of the most unique personalities in sports. Cuban sold his majority ownership stake in the Mavericks at the beginning of the year but still has a large stake in the team and is in charge of basketball operations. He might just be the most invested owner ever.

Cuban is never seen in a c-suite like many other top executives, but he is always down with the rest of the fans cheering right along with the Mavericks faithful. For that reason, he is beyond loved in Dallas and respected around the NBA community. It’s a guarantee that he’ll be putting on his Mavs gear and getting loud for the entirety of this series.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck – Celtics Fans

Two of the most notable actors grew up repping the green and black. The two superstar actors lived just two blocks away from each other and have been close friends since. Their rise to fame began over 25 years ago when they co-wrote and starred in the hit film Good Will Hunting, a movie set in Boston. Since then, the pair have had many notable characters from Batman to Jason Bourne. Now the two might have a chance to see their beloved Celtics win their first championship since 2008.

Patrick Mahomes – Mavericks Fan

While the Celtics might have Brady on their side, the Mavericks have a quarterback of their own. Reigning Superbowl champion and MVP Patrick Mahomes has always been a Mavericks fan. He grew up in Tyler, Texas just an hour and a half away from Dallas. He even played basketball in high school, and based on his ability to throw the football I’m sure he could dish out a couple of sweet passes for assists.

Gucci Mane – Celtics fan?

The popular rapper, songwriter, and record executive has sat courtside at several Celtics games sporting Boston green. He’s taken pictures with Deuce Tatum (Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum’s son) and hung out with Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Somehow the Alabama native has found his way into liking Boston, even though he’s also voiced his support for his hometown Hawks and other NBA teams. No matter where his true allegiances lie, he will likely be present in Boston for the 2024 finals.

Jamie Foxx – Mavericks Fan

A-list actor, singer, and producer Jamie Foxx is a big Mavericks fan. He is known for a wide variety of roles but won his lone Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the biopic Ray. As someone who grew up in Texas, he has always been a devoted Maverick supporter. If Foxx has his way the Mavericks will win their first title since 2011.
