Proudly from Romford in Essex, the 6ft5 “Romford Bull” is now only two years into his career and has burst onto the scene with unprecedented levels of popularity, described by Eddie Hearn as the biggest ticket seller the UK has seen since Ricky Hatton. His aggressive style and heavy hands have seen him achieve 7 wins with 6 by KO.
Johnny’s break into boxing came while studying History at Exeter University, when he decided to reach out to Joe Joyce for sparring. After impressing, Johnny was taken out to Las Vegas as Joyce’s primary sparring partner. Since then, Johnny has subsequently sparred the UK’s very best, including the likes of Tyson Fury, Daniel Dubois and Derek Chisora.
Johnny has amassed one of the biggest fanbases in British boxing, known as the Romford Bull Army, led by his father and social media sensation, “Big John”. Despite the attention, Johnny has remained humble and down to earth which has endeared him to fans all over the UK.
