DYLAN AND THE MOON ANNOUNCES HIS BRAND NEW SINGLE, ‘BONES’, AND DEBUT EP MOSAIC, OUT NOW ON OCTOBER 11TH!

South-London based artist Dylan And The Moon releases his new single, ‘Bones’, hot on the heels of his latest single ‘Love Me, Though I’m Not Right’, both taken from his debut EP Mosaic, out on October 11th.

Dylan Holloway AKA Dylan And The Moon rose to fame competing on the X Factor many moons ago, before making history in 2023 as the first and only trans winner of a BBC Music show, Project Icon. Dylan then went on to perform at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, releasing his greatly-received single ‘Lemons’ with Jason Derulo. Dylan is set to perform a headline show at The Old Blue Last in London on October 26th, tickets are available here.

Performing as Dylan and the Moon, the indie pop singer and former X Factor star, recently hit the headlines after sharing moving collaborations with his pre-transition self, Lots Holloway. He began gaining rapid online traction by paying tribute to her through what he has described as his greatest source of comfort through his darkest times: the music.

Using vocals recorded throughout his transition, as well as clips of his adolescent self pre-transition, Dylan has reached across the screen and pulled on the viewer’s heartstrings throughout the nation and beyond. The emotional impact of the original tracks only deepens when hearing ‘Lots’ and Dylan’s voices intertwine.

Dylan started a three year long recording journey, capturing vocals from 2020 all the way through his transition, so that his recent single ‘Off My Brain (Dylan’s Version)’ could feature a soprano to tenor choir made up entirely of his own voice. Describing the experience, Dylan shares, “It sounds as though the song features many different male and female vocals, but they’re all me. It’s haunting, but I think it’s beautiful.” Dylan later performed this version live at his sold-out headline show at Omeara in London. He invited ‘someone special’ to the stage before Lots sang alongside him through the speakers, leaving the audience spellbound by his avant-garde creation. (Click here to watch)

Announcing the launch of his latest single ‘Bones’ today, Dylan explains: “Music has always been a huge source of comfort and when I came across an old clip of me singing in 2019, I started to play around with some harmonies and it sounded great! So I decided to re-release some of the songs which I had performed as Lots Holloway. Some I re-recorded with my new voice, and others I performed as male and female ‘duets’ using old video and vocal recordings. It felt like the perfect way to pay tribute to the journey I have been on, bridging the gap between who I was, with who I am now, and bringing my fans along for the ride.”

He continues: “The new music reflects where I am now. ‘Bones’ is a cinematic and romantic song that feels like being on the run with your lover. Think Bonnie & Clyde, Thelma & Louise, Pam & Tommy – it’s all about infatuation and passion. Heavy drums, flying guitar solos, choral harmonies and a massive catchy hook.”
