Cult Beauty Partners with Hertility for IWD to Champion Women’s Health

In honour of International Women’s Day, Cult Beauty have collaborated with Hertility to compile a host of must-have make up innovations from female-founded brands – think coveted complexion glow-givers plus renowned eye and lip favourites in a limited edition bag – all just as iconic as the women who created them, with each purchase forming part of a donation to Hertility’s Black Women’s Health Initiative.

By partnering with Hertility, Cult Beauty want to break down the educational barriers and restricted access to services that currently exist around reproductive health. They are encouraging honest and open conversations with the hope that one day, we all feel as comfortable talking about our own stories as we do our favourite beauty finds.

Hertility was born because for too long, women have been dismissed by the healthcare system. Their bodies are ’too complicated’ to understand and their health conditions remain ‘elusive’. So, they’re revolutionising reproductive healthcare and putting women front and centre of everything they do. By bringing reproductive science out of the lab and into the hands of every single woman worldwide, they’re setting a new standard of scientific rigour and education in female health to nurture the Mother of all movements – one powered by a new generation of women who back their bodies and their life choices.

Deirdre O’Neill, Hertility Co-Founder & Chief Commercial & Legal Officer, says:

“Women’s bodies shouldn’t be a taboo subject and they shouldn’t be a medical mystery either. This is what this partnership with Cult Beauty is all about – we should be swapping body tips as commonly as beauty tips and championing some incredible female-founded beauty brands in the name of furthering research into women’s health. When women come together, we really can do anything.”

This seven-piece Edit (worth over £128) costs just £40, and comes in a limited edition beauty bag illustrated by artist Laxmi Hussain, as an abstract representation of female reproductive empowerment, in collaboration with Hertility. And the best part? Each one purchased contributes to a total donation of over £18,000 towards Hertility’s Black Women’s Health Initiative, committed to driving research and change to close the gap on racial inequalities in Black women’s healthcare.

Laxmi’s inspiration comes from the forms encountered in everyday life, from the body, the tenderness of motherhood, the natural shapes of the body as a vessel and its evolution throughout life. Working in several different media, usually at night, Laxmi is driven by experimentation, constantly exploring new techniques and searching for the shapes and subjects they express best. Often, her work includes elements that appear incomplete, obliging the viewer to pause and engage with the artwork, filling in the absences themselves rather than just dismissing it and moving on.

You can sign up to waitlist from 26th February, and the Edit will be available to purchase from 18th March at Cult Beauty.
