Calm and Bumble partner to provide love and relationship meditations

According to recent research by Bumble, 1 in 5 (23%) of people on the app are “new dawn daters” – those who are single after experiencing a breakup during the peak of the pandemic. While the biggest driver of break ups was the inability to see a partner (46%), 1 in 3 people (33%) also said that the pandemic has exacerbated existing issues!

With this in mind they decided to partner up with Calm, the number 1 app for mental fitness, to give singles the tools and inspiration they need to pursue healthy and fulfilling relationships. Calm, will be launching a range of content within the app designed to foster mindfulness and courage throughout people’s dating journeys, from the first message and beyond.

62% of Bumble’s community stated they have been impacted by mental health and wellbeing concerns as a result of the pandemic. As we look forward, 2 in 3 people on Bumble (64%) are concerned about the impact to their mental health and wellbeing should a second wave of COVID-19 occur.

During a time of such uncertainty, Calm and Bumble have partnered to encourage people to incorporate mindfulness and courage into their dating lives through Calm meditations and Spark sessions. The new in-app content on Calm includes eleven meditation sessions covering topics such as strengthening love, easing heartbreak, and supporting your partner. This also includes a series on how to date courageously, especially relevant as people look to navigate this new world of dating. The three new Spark sessions with guest experts discuss being brave in love, embracing vulnerability and managing expectations.

Tamara Levitt, Head of Mindfulness at Calm, said, “When we bring mindfulness into our relationships, we bring openness and compassion to our conversations. We’re better able to recognize our own relational patterns, and communicate more effectively, which sets us up to create the deep, authentic relationships we so desire.”

To access this content, anyone can register for a free 7 day trial and Bumble is also providing millions of single people with a 40% discount on an annual subscription to Calm, which will grant access to Calm’s entire library of premium audio content.

To claim the discount, users simply open the Bumble Date app and swipe right on the Calm profile.
