BURGER KING UK CHEEKILY CHALLENGES BRITS TO GUESS MEAT FROM PLANT-BASED

Burger King UK reveals a third (29%) of the nation want to live a more flexitarian lifestyle, with Monday crowned the best day of the week to win in kickstarting new habits*. Yet in reality, 73% would still choose meat when given the choice with a whopping 48% believing they’d miss out on taste when going plant-based.

The new study also revealed 63% of Brits are confident they can easily tell the difference between meat and meat-free, with 76% putting this down to a difference in texture and taste.

So, to disprove this meaty misconception, Burger King UK and The Vegetarian Butcher called in Gogglebox star Joe Baggs to host a new game show –Is this Plant-based?’  – putting unassuming taste buds to the test.

Most meat-loving locals were confident the burgers were too delicious to be plant-based, stating they “taste so good” and “look very meaty”. Many confirmed they would order them again, and one was even convinced it tasted just like their regular Chicken Royale order. But Baggs sent jaws-dropping when he revealed they were tucking into the Vegan Royale and Plant-based Whopper – proving once and for all that Burger King®’s meat-free menu offers big taste, without compromise.

As part of Burger King UK’s plans to help the nation make the most of Mondays with a bit more flex, Burger King UK has revealed a tasty ‘Meat Free Monday’ offer via the BK UK app. For just £2.99 every single Monday, meat-eaters, flexitarians and vegans alike can get their hands on a Plant-based Whopper® or Vegan Royale. Sounds good, right?
