This certainly is the year of celebration for the beloved Beat-Herder festival of Lancashire in Northern England.
In addition to winning the Extra Festival Activity Award at the UK Festival Awards, Beat-Herder will also be celebrating its 10th birthday during this year’s festivities from July 17 – 19.
The last ten years have been a whirlwind of success for the festival: from their modest beginnings throwing free parties, to the current three-day bonanza that brings in approximately 12,000 people. Beat-Herder has been jamming its way into the hearts of music lovers and festival junkies everywhere.
The festival has become famous for their impeccable attention to detail. The site gets built entirely by hand, and houses a variety of surprises in every nook and cranny. No two years will ever be the same for the festival goers. Each year new areas will be built for guests to enjoy. Past additions included a swimming pool in the woods and an earth mound remnant of Stonehenge known only as The Ring.Â
In addition to all the flashy attractions, Beat-Herder still makes sure to maintain a solid lineup for their fans. Headlining the special anniversary edition is Basement Jaxx, the über influential dance floor duo from the UK. Other great dance acts to grace Toil Trees stage include DJs Andrew Weatherall, Paul Woolford and Krysko.
Not a dance music fan? Not a problem. Motown legends Martha and the Vandellas and gypsy swing kings Parov Stelar Band will also be making an appearance at the weekend-long party.
