Following sold-out global runs and widespread international acclaim, Egyptian-American comedian and political satirist Bassem Youssef is set to return to the UK stage this summer with his brand-new stand-up show, The Belly of the Beast. Youssef first rose to prominence as the host of Al Bernameg, the Middle East’s first political satire programme. What began as a five-minute YouTube series during the Egyptian revolution quickly evolved into a groundbreaking television phenomenon, attracting an astonishing 30 million weekly viewers and becoming the first online-to-TV conversion in the region.
