To celebrate the anticipated official reopening of bars, pubs and restaurants in England from 4th July, BACARDÍ Rum has launched a brand new Snapchat lens to ensure cocktail lovers can enjoy a taste of the Caribbean at a minimum 1 metre distance when back in their local.
As lockdown restrictions are eased, the bar scene in England is getting ready to welcome visitors back, with pub gardens and bar fronts prepared for the official re-launch of summer. The new Snapchat lens uses augmented reality showcasing the distance between smartphone users and their friends while enjoying cocktails at their local bar or restaurant. The innovation will allow BACARDÍ fans to continue to express themselves through dance and movement, all whilst maintaining social distance.
Once activated, as users approach the 1 metre distance, the Snapchat lens responds showing how much further they need to stand back to maintain that social distance. Once the distance is met, they will be digitally transported via the lens to a Caribbean island celebration with the addition of sunglasses, palm trees and the official BACARDÍ rum anthem, the Sound of Rum!
