Music man, DJ and producer TommyD and his team of industry insiders such as Warner Music UK Chairman & CEO Max Lousada and ex-Red Bull chief Harry Drnec have created 8O8 Whisky (for those of you who don’t know is named after famous Roland TR-808 Drum Machine) for a spectacular collision between the music and spirits industry. Combining his two passions, 8O8 is set to revolutionize the industry, encouraging a whole new generation of whisky drinkers and is inviting fellow music lovers to experience a new take on the traditional drink.
Working with venues and promoters within the UK who share the passion for good music and great life experiences, 8O8 are set to host events at Cosmic Ballroom (Newcastle), Circus (Liverpool), Canal Mills (Leeds), Rainbow Venues (Birmingham), SubClub (Glasgow), Stealth (Nottingham), a free party in Bristol in a secret venue and finishing off in London with special guests to be announced.
Throughout his career, TommyD has always done things differently. His lifelong commitment to the genre and fresh approach to production, DJing and songwriting has made him into the prolific artist he is today and now he’s setting out to revolutionize the way clubbers drink with the launch of 8O8 Whisky. “Whisky brings people together,” says TommyD. “It’s a sociable drink that inspires conversation. Like the best dance music it has warmth, bottom end, and a definite KICK. 8O8 is whisky but not as you know it. It’s Whisky remixed!â€Â
Alongside the launch of 8O8 and the 8in8 UK tour, TommyD has been developing a project, Cre8, to help support young artists and projects within the industry which will be announced in the coming months.
Announced for the 8IN8 Tour are DJ Harvey, Maribou State, Maya Jane Coles, Joris Voorn and more to celebrate the launch. 8IN8 kicks off on the 15th of March at Cosmic Ballroom in Newcastle with Maribou Sate and TommyD. Get tickets HERE.
