AFRO NATION PORTUGAL SET FOR BIGGEST YEAR YET WITH NICKI MINAJ, ASAKE AND REMA HEADLINING

Afro Nation Portugal is set for its biggest year yet, as the global Afrobeats and Amapiano movement comes together in Portimao this week for three days of music, culture, food, fashion, dancing and community.

Up to 40,000 fans from 170 countries are expected to celebrate on the Algarve’s flagship Praia da Rocha beach between Wednesday 26th and Friday 28th June 2024. Golden Tickets have already sold out, with limited VIP, GA and Thursday Day Tickets remaining.

Big names are set to deliver electrifying performances, including Lit Stage headliners Nicki Minaj – who will be painting Portimao pink, Asake off the back of timely new single ‘Wave’ which name-checks Afro Nation, and Rema who just made history this week as ‘Calm Down’ became the first Afrobeats song to reach over a billion on-demand streams in the US. Over on the Piano People stage with Converse the new stage sponsor for 2024, a star-studded electronic line up will be headlined each day by Uncle WafflesMusa Keys and Major League DJz.

Another first for 2024, Afro Nation will be recording full sets from the Piano People stage to be released on YouTube after the show, making it possible to relive those festival memories and reach a truly global audience online.

A festival famous for its one of a kind vibe, unbeatable natural setting and loving community, now promises a range of new experiences to enjoy for its fourth edition. Getting the party started early everyday from 12pm will be three NoSolo Beach Takeovers for Golden Ticket holders, hosted by LitAfro Nation vs Everybody and Girls I Rate DJs. There will be an enhanced range of food and drink options for all, including a new partnership with Tinie Tempah’s ‘Raps’ chicken venture, joining the likes of Jollof Mama and Afromufasa. The new official shooter partner Jägermeister will be hosting artist signings everyday, whilst the best views and exclusive tables can be enjoyed on the Sky Terrace with Hennessy. The VIP area is also expanding the popular Afro Spa to offer services from glitter makeup to braiding and tooth gems, whilst the Afro Cutz barbers are on hand for trims, fades, massages and more.
