Every hipster’s dream has come true; Tumblr has created a clothing line.
The social media site has produced a series of unisex garments to celebrate its 10th season working with New York Fashion Week. Created by 10 artists on the social network, the collection will be made up of Tumblr-inspired designs. Fuzzy 3D characters, outer space images and a robot skull are just some of the prints that Tumblr lovers can expect to see on dresses, backpacks, raincoats and more.
The apparel debuted at a pop-up shop in New York this weekend and will be available to buy from the 14th September on Print All Over Me.
Valentine Uhovski, Tumblr’s fashion evangelist (yes, that’s his real title), told The New York Times: “We wanted every look to feel like a Tumblr post, when you enter the pop-up shop, you’ll feel like you’re inside of a Tumblr dashboard.”
Those who aren’t afraid to stand out can embody their love of the internet, art and fashion thanks to the artists who have created these garish prints. One of the designers, Brian Vu, told Mic: “I got Tumblr about three or four years ago and it was really all about self-expression. It was made by people who wanted to come together to have a good place forever. It was like a blog but also all about imagery and comedy”
The clothes’ designs are self-expression in its most modern form; expect to see some trippy imagery and edgy patterns, coming to a hipster near you.
