It’s been over a week since this year’s Comic-Con event took place in San Diego and we’re still head over heels about all of the new films and TV shows that are due to hit our screens later this year. With the likes of the trailer for ‘Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ also making an appearance, it’s no wonder fans were on the edge of their seats. Literally.
A series which also made its debut includes that of ‘Scream Queens‘; a new horror comedy anthology produced by Ryan Murphy in association with 20th Century FOX Television. The series has been described as a spin-off from ‘American Horror Story‘, with a splash of spine-tingling moments enough to make us quiver in fear.
The series follows the typical all American sorority life whereby a group of teenage girls are looking for new pledges. However, 20 years before, a crime took place on the campus which causes the new sorority sisters of today to pay the price on the anniversary of the crime. Former ‘Wild Child‘ star, Emma Roberts, plays the central character of Chanel, the President of Kappa sorority. Other famous faces which are set to feature in the series include that of Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande, Keke Palmer, Lea Michelle and many more. Explosive is an understatement, we know.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the creator of the show, Ryan Murphy, noted that there will be a thematic approach to the show.
Scream Queens is due to air September 22nd on FOX later this year. See the trailer here.
