Fans of the Marvel juggernaut Avengers had some serious reasons to rejoice last week as the final trailer for the second film installment was released. Not only was it packed with exciting footage that show Marvel’s undeniable talent for great sequels, but it also caused nerds everywhere to begin another countdown for the beginning of May and the films release.
The newest trailer set a new record, gaining 35 million views in 24 hours. This overshadowed the previous teaser trailer, which debuted on October 22, gaining 34.3 million views in 24 hours. The footage also followed the path of everything Marvel has released so far, gathering its super-hero All Star team together again to find out if they are strong enough to defeat the films villain.
The original plan was to release the final full trailer of the Ultron on ABC Thursday evening during the premiere of new series “American Crime.” However, it seemed that Marvel had another plan. The notoriously sneaky company sent out a tweet reading “It’s go time, Marvelites: Tweet using #AvengersAssemble to unite & unlock an epic new #Avengers #AgeofUltron Trailer! http://flwcs.co/3BM” and according to Disney, 8,100 tweets were coming in per minute to access the newest trailer.
The world has always known that Marvel has some of the most dedicated fans in both the film and comic book worlds. If the incredible reaction to the latest trailer is any indication, it would not be a surprise if Age of Ultron becomes the highest grossing film of 2015 so far.
