NBA Sundays: Los Angeles Lakers @ Oklahoma Thunder

This week’s BT Sport Sunday night game features the Los Angeles Lakers visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Season so far:

The Lakers come into this one having won 6 of their last 10 and sitting in the 11th spot in the West. There have been many struggles on the road this season for the Lakers and this matchup is going to be very tough for them.

The Thunder have just recently had an 8 game winning streak snapped, as they continue to try to chase down the Timberwolves for that all important 4th seed in the Western Conference. That seeding would give them the comfort of a first round series with home court advantage probably against those very same Timberwolves.

Key Players:

Russell Westbrook (Thunder)

Russ is averaging almost a triple double this season as he is currently averaging 25.5 points per game, 10.1 assists per game and 9.4 rebounds per game. During the Thunder’s recent 8 game winning streak he averaged 29 points per game.

Julius Randle (Lakers)

Julius in the last 2 weeks has been shooting the ball very efficiently, averaging 17.4 points per game on 60% shooting. During that stretch he has also had 3 double doubles and a rebound shy of a 4th one.

Final Thoughts:

The Thunder have so many weapons on display whilst the Lakers are a young team trying to establish an identity going forward.
